To putĀ the time aside to document what I've eaten, track my calories, weighing my food, it takes a lot of effort. It also takes a lot of time, which we don't seem to have enough of.
I haven't weighed ANY of my food this whole weekend, last Sunday when I started blogging my food diaries, I had the intention to beĀ super strict for four weeks. Now a week in, I've realised this is not realistic FOR ME.
Quick summary of what I've eaten today:Ā
I started the day with a coffee with almond milk and Jake kindly made me breakfast this morning. The same as yesterday - Chocolate Protein Pancakes with banana today and also chocolate peanut butter. So tasty!Ā
We went to Tesco and I brought a pack of propercorn chocolate flavour, around 60 calories per bag. I had one bag whilst going around the aisles.
I then went to the gym and Jake trained me.
I drove to Essex for my friends baby shower, it was the most gorgeous set up. Her mum organised it for her, it was just perfect! There was a donut wall, plenty of food and cakes... I actually didn't have a chance to eat anything, I had a sip of bubbles though.
As I'm writing this is 9.45pm and Jake made me the most tastiest roast dinner. I've just realised he's cooked twice for me today...I've trained him well. š
Ā

]]>It's 6.10pm as I'm writing this daily blog/diary entry. I've already put Georgie to sleepĀ š“ I know it's so early, but he's been driving me mad all day! I need him to sleep so I can try and sort the house out before Jake comes home.
I'm usually always doing something and am always out and about busy. So today I thought I would stay home ALL DAY! I still had work emails to respond to, newsletters to send, social media posts, customers to contact. The Game Changer Kitchen has a 6pm Friday deadline to get orders in for the following week. So many people forget, so I have to nudge them.
Anyways, boredom kicked in around 12pm and I wanted to eat everything in site.Ā šFortunately and unfortunately we had no biscuits to eat, so I decided to attempt to make my own protein cookies.š©āš³I am NOT a baker, hence why I outsource the Protein Brownies and Protein Cheesecake.Ā For some reason, even if I follow a cake recipe to a T, it's an absolute disaster.
CompletelyĀ made upĀ the recipe and didn't calculate the macros before hand. They work out at 100 calories each. The picture below makes them look much nicer than they were.
They don't taste great, but I still reached for a second biscuit = 200 calories. Definitely not worth 200 calories, at all!Ā
I heat a Cajun Chicken before I reach for another of those cookies. I add Kale and some leftover Broccoli from Georgie's weaning.
Georgie has wanted all my attention all day long especially whilst I'm trying to work on the laptop. š
So I decide we both could do with some fresh air. So I take him for a walk to the local shops and we hit Asda. Plus, I'm not going to the gym today, so any type of exercise is good, even if it's just 10 minute walk to the shops and back.
In Asda I walked down every aisle. Staring at biscuits and contemplating to buy a pack and not document it on this blog...I promise I didn't.
I ended up buying 4 pots (4 for 3, cheers Asda) of Nestle LINDAHL's Straciatella yoghurt, made from quark cheese and sweeteners. 17g per pot and under 100 calories.Ā I had a tablespoon earlier, it's not the sweetest yoghurt and takes a while to get used to...a bit like my cookies earlier.Ā
Georgie and IĀ go to Costa coffee for a sugar free caramel americano with soya milk andĀ I grabbed a pot of fruit for Georgie, so he can suck on a pineapple and melon.
Ā
It's 6.20pm - Jake doesn't get home till 8pm andĀ called me on the way homeĀ "I think we deserve a treat"Ā
I have been dreaming about Chinese all week long. š¤¤Ā
3 hours later, It's 9.20pm and we had a Chinese. I always eat my take aways on a small plate, to stop me from overreating. I've overeaten a couple of times and no exaggeration have ended up in hospital.Ā
Once when I was pregnant, I hated the fact I was so full all the time, I could barely eat, so I pushed myself to eat more than I could chew, and projectile vomited all night long. Another time was over christmas, I ate too much cheese and pate and had severe acid reflux, I actually thought I was dying.Ā šØĀ
9.30pm We've eaten our Chinese and I'm nowĀ calculatingĀ our numbers for The Game Changer Kitchen. I have to calculate all the meat per meal to send over to our butcher to order in.
Ā
I am really craving chocolate. We have none in the house, apart from dark chocolate. š«
We'd usually have a takeaway then bags of chocolate; minstrels, counters and maltesers. I've asked Jake to nip to the shops...he tells me I should go, cause he went to get the chinese - fair point, but I'm busy calculating these numbers and can't get distracting. As I'm typing I watchĀ him dip his hand into cold chips from the Chinese, as if they are salt and vinegar crisps. š¤£
10.40pm - For the first time on a Friday that I can remember, we've not eaten countless amount of chocolate. Instead, I finished my yoghurt from earlier painfully slowly, with anĀ added square of chocolate to take away the sharpness from the quark cheese. I'm actually pretty full from theĀ Chinese, but that yoghurt and dark chocolate has not done the trick. š
So I've just suggested sharing a Grenade bar with Jake, but who's going to get up from the sofa to get it. šĀ
I haven't bothered adding the Chinese to MyFitnessPal. It wouldn't be accurate, I know I've gone over my daily calories, I'm definitely not in a deficit today. However, I didn't over indulge in my Chinese.Ā
I had 3 or 4 chicken balls, 4 prawn crackers, a large handful of chips and a few tablespoons of chicken curry sauce with special fried rice.Ā
InĀ case you're wondering what happened to the Cinema tonight...We are going tomorrow instead. Apart from that walk, I wanted to stay and chill all day long, so much so, I've dented our sofa from being sat on it all day. š³
Jakes Diary:Ā
I have a busy day tomorrow, I'm going to head to the gym in the morning, I then have an event to go to, which I'll explain in tomorrows post.Ā
Ā
Ā
]]>Not going to lie, I am prettyĀ nervous to go alone.
It's good to push yourself out of your comfort zone. I once heard a quote "be comfortable with being uncomfortable" another quote, which is mine and Jakes favourite quote "feel the fear and do it anyway". Anyways enough motivational talk and more about food. There's a hot buffet at the event, which I don't plan to touch to be honest. Unless, it's amazing.
I will have a drink though...
I made protein pancakes this morning, we're launching them next week for Pancake special. Chocolate pancakes, with a side of berries and Nutella! So tasty.
11.57pm -Ā I've had one busy day!Ā
The event earlier was great it was for Diamonds and DealsĀ a great concept to get women in business together. I'm feeling very inspired and motivated from everyone there.Ā
I went to the gym for a quick 15 minute session with Jake, even though it was short. It was brutal.
I had a glass ofĀ Prosecco and a small plate of food at the event, with literally some leaves, slice of toasted bread and some sort of pastry. I was intentionally saving myself for tonight for the cinema.Ā
Jake and I then went to the cinema to The Green Book, inspired on true events.Ā It was brilliant, few chuckles throughout.Ā
We shared a huge cup of pick n mix, I just ate the fudge, I probably had about 10 pieces.Ā
I then ate a bag of counters. We didn't go dinner beforehand, so we agreedĀ to order a Dominos for when we got home. I ordered a small pizza; half Margherita and half vegi surpreme, I don't usually go vegi on pizza.
Jake had a medium pizza.Ā
I left one slice, purely because it was soggy. I then finished the night with a generous handful of minstrels.
Yep I've eaten a lot of crap today, but do I feel guilty? Not really. Did I enjoy it? Yes.Ā
It's a Saturday, it's the weekend, I love pizza, I love chocolate.I've previously been to the cinema with just a bottle of water because "I'm on a diet" but for me that takes half the fun out of cinema experience.
I have another busy day tomorrow, planning to go to the gym in the morning and then I'm driving to Essex with Georgie for my friends baby shower. She's also going to have a lil boy!Ā
Ā
Ā
]]>Ā
8.15am
So if you read my post from yesterday, you're all wondering if I got up to go to the gym this morning...I did wake up and get up at 6.30am...but my eyes were burning and Georgie woke up countless times throughout the night to feed. He is SO hungry recently, I need to up his vegetables.Ā
I WILL go to the gym today, I WILL!Ā
Yesterdays breakfast was only 10g of Protein which meant I struggled to eat all my protein for the day, so I've made my usual bowl of chocolate oats, but with the protein powder. I added it towards the end and mixed it up and left it for 5 minutes, it tastes so much sweeter than the other day. I chose not to add peanut butter today,Ā as I know I'm going to have it later on ryvitas.
I'm going to Bedford today to see my cousin, she's 26 with 3 kids (4, 1, 2 months) Call her brave or crazy... you decide.
8pm - I went to Costa earlier with my cousin and her newborn baby boy. I had an Americano with almond milk and sugar free caramel - I always drink my coffee in take away cups, it keeps them hotter for longer šāāļøĀ
I then grabbed a snack from boots Fulfil Protein chocolate bar hazelnut whip flavour, it was so nice! First time I've tried it.Ā
I brought two Cajun chickens with me to have back at my cousins house, I had so many to eat get through by today. Mondays meals are cooked in the kitchen and need to be eaten by Thursday or frozen. She absolutely loved it, or she was just being polite. š¤
I ended up going to the gym at 4pm, Jake watched Georgie for half an hour whilst I trained. I'm never in the gym longer than half an hour, unless I stop chatting!
I started off with a 60 secondĀ quick warm up on the rower.Ā
Followed by tricep pull downs, assisted pull ups,Ā seated row, overhead tricep extensions, dumbbell snatches,Ā dumbbell bent over rows, and lastly finished off with two 30 second sprints on the treadmill. I stupidly wore my nursing bar instead of a sports bra, so I had to hold my boobs whilst sprinting. š¤£
So I'm day 5 intoĀ strictly calorie counting and Jake keeps telling me "you'reĀ 5 days in, you need to take a before photo" I will once I pluck up the courage.Ā
At around 7pm, I had butternut squash risotto for dinner, I added a HUGE serving of broccoli on the side, broccoli is so underrated. I actually put it in the tupperware and steamed it!Ā
I now have 400 calories left and buzzing to have the same dessert I had last night. It was so tasty. I'll try and make it pretty tonight.
10pm - I left a tablespoon of my dessert, it was SOĀ filling. As I fill the last of MyFitnessPal, I realise my oats from the morning are 3g instead of 30g, which makes me go over my daily goals.Ā
For Valentines I bought Jake a token gift of vouchers as a joke. Tonight he presented me with my first one. š
Cinema for tomorrow night, with a cocktail and sweets...I'm happy to be super strict on the weekdays, but I'm going to be much more flexible over the weekends.Ā
Food is to be enjoyedĀ andĀ food makes me happy. Tracking calories is mainly to understand the value of calories there are in certain foods and portion sizes. I wouldn't recommend calorie counting for life, unless you enjoy it. I'm already hating weighing my breakfast and desert, luckily I have The Game Changer Kitchen meals weighed and portioned for me for lunch and dinner.
Ā
Jakes food:Ā
Jake was very shocked to see how little he ate yesterday, so he was on a mission today to up his food intake,
He started off with his usual oats; oats, almond milk, coconut peanut butter, banana and algave.Ā
He then had a standardĀ Ā The Game Changer Kitchen Butternut Squash Risotto with Sage Chicken
He then didn't eat anything until 9.30pmĀ š±He always has back to back clients, so doesn't have time to eat.
He did a small food shop at our local Asda and came back with spicy rice cracketr, avocado, parma ham and olives.Ā
Look at that spread...
He heated up The Game Changer Kitchen Spicy Turkey Chilli Con Carne with rice and ate that.Ā
It's 10.20pm and he plans to eat The Game Changer Kitchen Cajun Chicken Sweet Potato Mash.Ā
Each standard meal is only 500 calories, on average depending on your size as a man, you should be eating minimum 2500 calories per day. His calories for the day, if he eats the Cajun dish will be under 2500.Ā
He says " Progress not Perfection"Ā
š
Ā
]]>I wasn't going to attempt another burnt rye bread fiasco, so I've played it safe this morning.Ā š¤£Ā With my sweet bowl of hot chocolate porridge with a small banana.Ā
I'm on day 3 of weaning Georgie trying a new vegetable every day, broccoli today, even for breakfast. š¤¢
Ā
Once Georgie was with his sitter, I went and spent the day at The Game Changer Kitchen today. Like I mentioned on Monday I don't usually eat on prep days but this week I have been so hungry. So I stopped for five minutes and had the Cajun Chicken with sweet potato mash and added 40g of Kale in the tupperware and it steams it perfectly when microwaving it. š
I keep eating Kale because I love it, but it also has so many benefits, it containsĀ fibre,Ā antioxidants,Ā calcium, andĀ vitamin K and so much more, plus I'm breastfeeding still soĀ every little helps!ĀĀ
You'd think spending the day around food cooking all day long would put me off of food...NEVER!
By the time I got home from work and put Georgie to sleep it was 7pm. GuttedĀ I completely missed an afternoon snack! š³
I made extra meals for me and Jake, this time Instead of all the Cajuns otherwise this blog would be pretty boring, so I made a few extras of each meal.
Tonight I had the Turkey Meatball Parmesan pasta and also added 40g kale. If I wasn't eating The Game Changer Kitchen meals, I would have had a mountain of pasta on my plate without considering portion control.
TheĀ plate of food below is 503 calories to be precise, which isĀ plenty for dinner. It's also a balanced plate of protein, carbs and fat.Ā
You can see, I still haven't kicked my squash habit š¬
I added all my food toĀ MyFitnessPal to seeĀ what I was left with and I had around 400 calories,Ā so I made a big bowl of delicious randomness.Ā š Last night I said I'd stop with the protein snacks and naughty treats, so I'm sticking to that...until Friday. Me and Jake keep talking about the Chinese we're going to have on Friday š
I made a huge bowl of; 0% greek Yoghurt, frozen berries, chocolate protein powder, oats and 2 squares of dark chocolate. I did take a photo but it looked like slop BUT tasted like protein ice cream, very yum! Full of protein and also 9g of fibre.
Ā Ā
I'm pretty much bang on target with my daily goals. šŖš¾
I didn't go to the gym today, I never do on a Monday or Wednesday (meal prep days). I have set the intention to go tomorrow morning at 7am, that's when Jake can fit me in. I'll drop Georgie off to my mums for half hour...I'll let you know if that happens tomorrow.Ā šĀ
Ā
In tonights blog post, I've decided to add what Jake eats in a day, rather than just me. Most of our customers are men, so if any guys are reading this, it's good for you to have an insight, although he's been so busy today, he hasn't eaten much at all.Ā
Jake's Food Diary written by Ale
He started his day with a coffee with almond milk and a generous serving of algave syrup. His breakfast was a tupperware of overnight oatsĀ made of; oats, coconut peanut butter, algave, banana, almond milk.
For lunch he has the standard sized Chicken Paella without chorizo.
For dinner he had a standard size of Turkey Meatballs parmesan pasta.
His dessert was a bowl of coco pops.Ā
He then rummages throughĀ the kitchen cupboards as I'm typing this he says in the background "this is the first time we have nothing naughty to eat in the house, this is tragic"Ā š¤£
In desperation he comes back with a finger covered in Nutella... filling. š¤·š¼āāļø
He's eaten less calories than I have today! He usually aims to eat double this - around 3000 calories. He's shocked to see how little he's eaten and is aiming to eat more tomorrow.Ā Ā
So I guess this shows two sides; me trying to portion control and be more conscious of what I'm eating to lose fat and he needs to increase his daily energy to recomp (process of reducing body fat and adding muscle mass).
If you got this far, thanks for taking time to read. This is mainly to help myself, but if this post helps anyone,Ā my day is complete.Ā
š
Ā
Ā
]]>šManaged to put him back to sleep again until 7am.
Tuesdayās I get the days off to try and catch up on life, I usually go to the gym, attempt house chores, although Jake is the house fairy, Georgieās a good enough excuse to avoid the laundry pile. š
Anyways I fancied a savoury breakfast today, so the intention was to have 2 eggs scrambled with Flora light butter, spinach and rye bread. We got rid of our toaster months ago, which I regretted massively this morning. I tried to bake the rye bread in the oven and it fell to pieces. So then I tried to grill another slice and left it under the grill slightly too longā¦see photos below. š©
I could have tried a third time āthird time luckyā and all that, but I didnāt have time to wait, so Iāve ended up with a low carb breakfast, I have carbs with everything usually. This breakfast was not what I envisioned.Ā
Ā
I dropped Georgie off to my lil brother who has the week off college, to meet Jake at the gym for 10am. My lil brother is also the delivery driver for The Game Changer Kitchen.
I rocked The Game Changer Kitchen Nike jumper at the gym. š
Forgetting I had a massive leg session with Jake, my low carb breakfast was not ideal and gave me little to no energy, I only managed a mouthful of coffee this morning tooā¦but I still rocked up and smashed my workout! Jake takes no excuses at the gym, so he would have refused to train me if I had turned up with aĀ can't be arsedĀ attitude. š¹
I weighed myself on the fancy scales at the gym and was pretty surprised to see Iām back at my pre pregnancy weight, but my fat percentage is a lot higher than it used to be. I weigh the same, but have less muscle and more fat than I did before I was pregnant. 1 pound of fat weighs the same as 1 pound of muscle, but fat takes up more spaceĀ making me look bulkier than I used to.Ā
Anyways so my other brother calls me at the gym to watch my nephew for a couple of hours, so I pick him up and we go to my dads cafe in Fenny Stratford - Ginoās Cafe. I wasnāt planning to eat there as I prepped my meals yesterday purposely and the Cajun Chicken was meant to be my lunch and it was only 11.30am. š
My dad has ham and cheese croissants, all the pastries, jacket potatoes and delicious paninis to choose from. As Iām beingĀ more conscious of my daily energy intake Iāve gone for a wholemeal toastie. I made myself behind the sandwich bar fresh with two slices of wholemeal bread no butter. Loads of fresh ham, he has cooked Italian ham on the bone and slices it there, so delicious.Ā š¤¤ I added a tiny bit of cheddar cheese and slices of tomato and sweetcorn, so thereās some sort of veg in there and toasted it, his staff cut it up all nicely for me.Ā
Ā Ā Ā
With every meal, I aim to have Carbs, protein, fat and a bit of veg.
Alongside The Game Changer Kitchen, this week Iāve decided to relaunch my old business I set up a couple of years ago called My Personalised Baby - Personalised baby clothes. Everything is currently sold out online, Iām changing the items and relaunching it properly in a few weeks.
I used to use my mums embroidery machine, which is far too big. This morning I found another machine, much smaller, but in Luton. So me, Jake and Georgie road trip to Luton to buy this machine.
We did a petrol pit stop and I grabbed a random Vegan bar, it was actually super tasty and only 125 calories. Made with natural ingredients.Ā
Excuse the chipped gel polish š³
On the way back from Luton, we went to look at a private studio for Jake. Heās finishing off his Strength and Conditioning coaching qualification, so the next step for him is to have his very own studio. Exciting stuff!!
On the way home we popped into Costa coffee around the corner from our house and Jake had a raspberry bakewell, his guilty pleasure, even at 450 calorie per slice. š
I just had a coffee - a small almond cappuccino with sugar free caramel.Ā
I started tracking MyFitnessPal throughout the day. So Iām pleased to see I have 975 calories left as I write this at 6.30pm. šš»
Iām about to put Georgie to sleep and plan to have my Cajun Chicken Dinner which is under 500 calories, like all the standard meals we have. All under 500 calories and 40g of protein!Ā Iām going to add some Kale on the side.Ā
One hour later and Georgie is asleep and Iāve also devoured my dinner. š·
I added 40g Kale in the Tupperware and microwaved the meal with the Kale to steam it. I then sprinkled extra salt on top. I could eat this meal every day forever! The portions always surprise me, they seem never ending! šš»
Jake had the spicy turkey chilli con carne with a side of stale doritos and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese.
If I wasnāt tracking my calories, IĀ would intuitively eat, meaning I would listen to my body and probably be satisfied with just a Grenade bar at 200 calories, but because I know I have over 500 calories left to eat, Iām going to eat more than I usually would.
So Iāve taken two devon scone out of our freezer at 220 calories each (one each) and I have clotted cream and jam. I meanā¦ it's not quite afternoon tea but it did just the trick, so sweet!Ā šĀ
I'm so sad I actually portioned and weight the jam and clotted cream in Georgie's weaning pots š
Iāve added my scone to MyFitnessPal and have just under 200 calories left... still not decided whether I will finish my night with a Grenade bar...
ā³
1 hour later andĀ I gave in and had the grenade bar, purely because I knew I could...a potential downfall to calorie counting š¤·āāļø
I've ordered yoghurt and berries in our food shop tomorrow to help meĀ cut down on the protein snacks and sugary foods over weekdays. Weekends I'll be much more lenient. I'm already dreaming of the chinese takeaway.Ā
Meal prep day for us tomorrow at The Game Changer Kitchen!
Ciao!
Ā
Ā
]]>I worked in The Game Changer Kitchen today, so I'm pretty tired and fancy some treats.Ā š©
Usually on a Monday, we'd have a lot of naughty snacks left from the weekend.Ā šAs soon as I get home from cooking all day, I'd put lil man to sleep, put my feet up and mindlessly eat biscuits. I said to Jake today "I wish I didn't start that blog now, I really want biscuits" but like I said yesterday, the reason I started this is to keep me accountable!Ā š¤¦āāļø
Of course I can have a few biscuits everyday if I wanted, but I'm an all or nothing kinda girl. I've been told I eat biscuits like crisps.Ā šThere have been moments my mum has had to grab the bag of biscuits away from me...call me the cookie monster šŖ
This morning Georgie-Ray woke me up at 6am, the bugger! I have no idea how to make him sleep longer.
I made myself a bowl of porridge, weighed every thing and decided to add MyProtein powder towards the end... if anyone has any tips on protein oats, I'm all ears. Mine always tastes powdery?! I add it in towards the end and give it a good old mix.
I then managed a mouthful of coffee before I had to drop Georgie off to his God Mummy.
Obviously working in a kitchen cooking, I have to taste test. Absolutely impossible to track this?!Ā
I don't usually eat throughout the day on a Monday or a Wednesday, but today I was absolutely famished. IĀ added a few extraĀ Chicken and Chorizo PaellasĀ Ā without the chorizo, I ended up eating half of this towards the end of the day and shared it with Jake.
As I don't know how to track a few mouthfuls, I've ended up adding the whole Chicken and Chorizo Paella to MyFitnessPal to compensate the additional tasting calories.
Every week I add extra meals for me and Jake, otherwise we'd be eating Takeaway every night. I added an extra 7Ā Cajun Chicken, Sweet Potato Mash and Green Beans so I can have it for lunch and dinner, the Mondays meals last until Thursday without having to freeze them. Unless Jake takes some, that's me sorted till Thursday Dinner. It's my favourite meal, yet it's the most simplest and boring, but I just love sweet potato mash and prefer simple meals š¤¤Ā
Our customers range from ordering one of everything or ordering the same meal for the week, I'm clearly the latter!Ā
No surprise tonights dinner was the Cajun Chicken, which was ready in 3 minutes in the microwave, I didn't even take it out the Tupperware...because why would I want to wash up a plate when I don't need to...
I then put Georgie to sleep and made myself another bowl of chocolate porridge.
I can see my food on here may get repetitive. Sorry in advance.Ā š¶
I made the bowl of oats with 10g coco powder, 10g algave, 100g frozen forest fruit, 30g oats, 200ml of unsweetened milk.Ā
I've not been able to kick my squash habit yet. Not sure about my photography skills taking more of the rug than my bowlĀ š¤·āāļø
Ā
As I'm typing this I am still hungry and calculating my macros on MyFitnessPal. I am buzzing to see I still have calories to eat, alleluia! I am starving!!Ā Ā š· I tend to eat most of my calories in the evening.
Ā
I've added a Grenade bar to my daily food on MyFitnessPal to bring my calories almost bang on, my macros aren't 100%, but I'm not to concerned about that, as my grams of protein are pretty high. The Game Changer Kitchen meals have 40g in all the meals, which helps massively towards my protein goals.
Super pleased I can have another sweet treat to this evening š
Ā
Again no exercise today - Mondays and Wednesdays are my no exercise days, I run around in The Game Changer Kitchen, so it's a workout in itself.Ā
Jake is training me tomorrow, however!Ā
He has half a day tomorrow and we still have a voucher my sister gifted us for our birthday for Afternoon Tea to use at Gabriella's in Olney. You'll find out tomorrow if I've given in to it... š
Ciao for now!Ā
Ā
Ā
Ā
]]>I also have 4 weeks today until my baby's Christening. I bought a white jumpsuit which currently does not fit me!! I'd say I have a good inch to lose, everywhere.Ā
I was fortunate to put on less than a stone with Georgie-Ray. I last weighed myself in January and I had 1kg to shift still, BUT I'm not too bothered about what the scale says. I go with how I look in the mirror and if my size 8 clothes are snug or not.
I've been eating junk food since finding out I was pregnant, that's a whole 14 months of junk food. I've not been able to get out of the bad habits; squash in my drink, costa daily with sugar free syrup, chocolates and biscuits EVERY evening, Chinese every week, dominoes most weeks (as well as the Chinese, not in one day).
I went to the gym right up until my due date and trained a minimum of 5 times per week during my whole pregnancy. Since running a business and working in the Kitchen on a Monday and Wednesday and now obviously having my son, I'm lucky if I get to train 3 times a week.Ā
I've decided to write a daily blog post on here, to keep me accountable and to keep me on track over the next four weeks with gym workouts and my food. It's going to take a lot of will power, as I have a busy few weeks with; baby showers and networking events. Excuses...Ā
I didn'tĀ track my calories throughout the day today, as I'm writing this I'm also calculating my daily energy intake on MyFitnessPal with no idea how much my food calories are for the day.
To drop body fat, I need to be eating less than my body requires. As I said above I don't care about the scale, but I think I have around 4 pounds of fat to lose.
So my aim is to drop 1 pound of fat per week, in 4 weeks. ThereĀ are 3500 calories in a pound of fat, so divided by 7 days in a week = 500 calories per day thatĀ I need to either eat less or burn by working out more, or I can do a combination of both.
Sunday 17th February Food Diary
I started the day with a bowl of my favourite chocolate porridge. I weighed everything today, I don't usually, unless I'm trying to shift some fat, one heaped tablespoon compared to a levelled tablespoon can make a hell of a difference!Ā
Ā
I forgot to take a picture of my porridge. It's much more carb heavy than I thought it would be, I sometimes add protein powder to balance the carbs and protein, but I forgot to today. The 300mls of milk above, includes my morning coffee too.
We went to see the church after breakfast, so on route, we picked up coffees, my second coffee of the day. I usually go for a sugar free gingerbread almond milk cappucino, but as I knew I was going to be tracking it, I went for an americano with sugar free caramel syrup andĀ soya milk.Ā
After church I went to Boots, I'm starting to wean Georgie tomorrow, so I had to buy some bowls and storage pots for his food. I was starving, so I grabbed a Trek bar and ate it at the till - breastfeeding mum hunger pangs.Ā
Ā
After a spot of shopping, I went home to heat some food up. The Game Changer Kitchen exhibited at Fit Fab Fest yesterday, we made enough of our Spicy Chilli Turkey Con Carne to feed an army, I ended up taking it home so me and Jake now have 2 days worth of food.Ā
I had a serving of the Spicy Chilli with a tiny sweet potato which I forgot to weigh, but according to MyFitnessPal the calories are the same with the usual potato.Ā
Ā
I tried to find my meal on MyFitnessPal and couldn't find it, oops, that's one of my tasks for the business. I've added it now...
I then had a pear mid afternoon with a herbal tea.Ā
I prepped Georgie's food for tomorrow, his Godmother watches him on a Monday whilst I'm in The Game Changer Kitchen working from early hours till the evening. Tomorrow, he starts his day 1 of weaning with potato, so I mashed it up and I was about to taste some, but stopped myself to avoid having to add it on MyFitnessPal later this evening.
For dinner, I had the Turkey Chilli again with 50g of white rice. Which is 60 calories extra than with potatoes, but my chilli portion was smaller, so I've inputted the meal again. I know it's not 100% accurate. I'll do better tomorrow!Ā
I have the sweetest tooth, so I HAD to have something sweet after my dinner. Luckily, I had the expo bag left from yesterday and a few Grenade bars were left, so I took a White Chocolate one.
This isn't 100% accurate as I didn't weigh my potato or chilli serving today, but my food intake has worked out to be around 1800 calories. My carbs are a lot higher than I want them to be.
I calculated my new macros to lose weight using this calculator found on Katy Hearns' site, I follow her on Instagram, she's also a new mumĀ and juggling multiple businesses.

I do need to work on eating more vegetables and drink a lot more water, ideally a minimum of 2-3 litres per day, water also plays a huge part in weight loss.Ā
